Behind the Scenes of Our World Cup TV Seasonal TV Commercial for Ideal Market in New Orleans

The World Cup is one of the most exciting sporting events worldwide, and with the 2026 tournament kicking off in the USA, the energy in New Orleans is electric. At Video Productions USA, we had the privilege of producing a seasonal TV commercial for Ideal Market in New Orleans, a beloved local supermarket, to celebrate this event. The commercial invites soccer fans to prepare for the games by stocking up on fresh food and drinks from Ideal Market, creating the perfect atmosphere for watch parties.

This blog post takes you behind the scenes of that production, sharing how we brought the concept to life, the creative choices we made, and the challenges we overcame to deliver a commercial that captures the spirit of the World Cup and the community it brings together.

Crafting the Concept: Fresh Ingredients Meet World Cup Excitement

The idea behind the commercial was simple but powerful: connect the passion for soccer with the joy of sharing fresh food and drinks at home. The voice-over script set the tone perfectly:

"The World Cup is here… and the best games start with the best ingredients. Fresh from the field — just like your team. Every color, every flavor, ready to play. The best watch parties need the best drinks on the bench. No matter which team you cheer for — at Ideal Market, everyone's on the winning side. This World Cup, bring the celebration home. Everything you need— fresh, ready, and full of flavor. See you at Ideal Market. Ideal Market — Where Every Goal Starts Fresh."

This script guided our visual storytelling. We wanted to showcase the vibrant, fresh produce and drinks Ideal Market offers, while also capturing the excitement and camaraderie of watching the World Cup with friends and family.

Location and Set Design: Bringing New Orleans Flavor to the Screen in a Seasonal TV Commercial

We chose to film in a cozy, inviting home setting that reflected the warmth and community spirit of New Orleans. The set was designed to feel authentic and lived-in, with a large screen TV showing soccer highlights, a table full of colorful snacks, fresh fruits, and drinks from Ideal Market.

The supermarket itself also played a role. We filmed close-ups of fresh produce and beverages in the store to emphasize quality and freshness. The lighting was bright and natural, highlighting the vivid colors of the food and creating an energetic, welcoming atmosphere.

Casting and Direction: Finding the Right Energy

Casting was crucial. We wanted people who looked like genuine soccer fans, excited and ready to cheer for their teams. The actors brought natural enthusiasm and warmth, which helped make the commercial relatable and engaging.

Our director focused on capturing moments of interaction—friends clinking glasses, someone preparing snacks, the collective cheer when a goal is scored. These small details helped tell the story without relying solely on the voice-over.

Filming Techniques: Capturing Freshness and Excitement

We used a mix of close-up shots and wider angles to balance the focus between the food and the soccer ball, representing the World Cup. Close-ups of fresh vegetables, colorful drinks, and snacks emphasized the quality of Ideal Market’s products. Wide shots showed the group’s excitement and the lively atmosphere of a watch party.

Natural light and soft focus were used to create a warm, inviting mood. Slow-motion shots highlighted the pouring of drinks and the vibrant colors of the food, making everything look even more appealing.

Post-Production: Enhancing the Message

In editing, we focused on pacing to match the excitement of the World Cup. Quick cuts between shots of the soccer ball going through the food departments kept the energy high. Color grading enhanced the freshness of the produce and the warmth of the home setting.

The voice-over was recorded with clear, enthusiastic delivery to complement the visuals. Sound effects like the crowd cheering and the clinking of glasses added to the immersive experience.

Challenges and Solutions

Producing a commercial around a major event like the World Cup comes with tight deadlines and high expectations. We had to coordinate filming schedules around the availability of the supermarket and actors, and ensure the set felt authentic without distracting from the products.

One challenge was balancing the focus between the food and the soccer theme. We solved this by carefully planning each shot to include both elements, making sure the products were always part of the story.
